Silver Buescher True Tone Tenor Saxophone

Meet "Silver Bee", a wonderful original finish restored classic silver tenor. Bueschers are perhaps the best American made vintage horns with excellent intonation and refined sound.

You are bidding on a silver Buescher True Tone Tenor Saxophone. Serial number 59xxx indicates it was made about 1920. This is a wonderfully warm and gorgeous horn that looks and sounds great! The silver finish gives this horn great tone and projection compared to a lacquer one. Comes with original neck with a new neck cork. The neck is in excellent condition with little or no loss of finish.

Cosmetically, I see no significant dents. There is one small ding and perhaps a couple micro dings and some rippling in the bow area. Also a small ding up above the lower thumbrest. There is no wear showing on the keys with the exception of some typical loss around the lower thumbrest and a little spot on the octave key. The ring is showing a little wear as well. There are some typical black spots which represent aging of the finish in and around some of the tone holes and underneath some of the keys. I see no obvious resolders on any of the posts or guards. Original Silver finish is intact in the 95% plus range which is great in a sax this old!

This horn was torn down, cleaned out, body and keys polished, body and keys separately treated with a powerful anti tarnish substance (better than a clear lacquer as it is transparent and non inhibiting sound-wise and doesn't peel, flake off, or discolor with age), then rebuilt with new Mark VI resonator style pads. Then it was carefully leak light tested and play adjusted and tested. It may need more break in, just like any new horn does. I try and do what I can, but I just don't have the playing hours these beauties really need. Hopefully, the new owner can continue this process.

This sax comes with no mouthpiece. If one is desired I have some new and used ones to offer at additional charge. This sax also comes with a non original deluxe Conn hard case in very good to excellent condition.

Another note, this anti tarnish treatment on the entire horn I perform is extra work, but should keep this horn cleaner and much more tarnish free for some years to come.
